Whatever you’re eating tonight, it probably isn’t this good!
One of our favorite things about Italian food culture is simply that the entire nation–despite being more than 20 distinct regions with *very* distinct food cultures and styles–stands as a monument to the concept of being connected to where your food comes from. Food should not be fast! Great food requires patience.
A little patience, some sense of adventure, and trusting your instincts helps. But you can figure it out a lot faster by joining us there!
Man do I want to meet this guy.
Needless to say, we’re big fans. Can’t wait to learn more from Mama Isa!
One of our favorite restaurants in Venice shared my photo of their fabulous linguine alle seppie. Delicious…and not a bad shot if I say so myself. 🙂

The short version: artisanal olive oil producers are getting squeezed by an unfair, corrupt market. Whenever you have the chance to buy from a specialty olive oil shop or reputable store, please do. We buy from The Olive Tap.
At our favorite place in Burano!
Here at Sassi Italy Tours we made a gluten free lasagna for the celiac among us, and it was fantastic. We paired it–rather magically we’d note–with Librandi’s Ciro Sangiovese from the toe of the boot that is Italy.

Delicious! We’re so lucky here–born into a family that appreciates Italian culture, able to eat delicious foods, drink delicious wines, and be home with family on Christmas. Hope yours was enjoyable as ours!
